I created an artist book in the form of a prize ribbon that explores pride, recognition, and celebration of personal transformation. It’s made up of a rosette, layered ribbon, and letterpress typography. The prize ribbon is a traditional symbol achievement that is validated by others while this ribbon celebrates internal achievement and growth.

I embraced imperfection in the inconsistence of the baseline while typesetting that reinforces personal growth as a process that is ongoing. Half of the typography is in English and the other half is in Spanish, featuring a lyric from Rosalía’s song, SAOKO. Although not fluent in Spanish yet, that fluency is part of my journey and growth.
